Kat & Rodrigo

Are getting married!

24th of October 2026 at Hacienda la Magdalena, Guadalajara, Mexico.

We're Saying "I Do" in Guadalajara, Mexico

Guadalajara isn’t just our wedding destination—it’s a city that holds a special place in Rodrigo’s heart as his hometown. Celebrated for its vibrant traditions, soulful mariachi music, and world-famous tequila, this enchanting city offers charming colonial architecture and historic plazas, all bathed in warm, sunny weather and a welcoming climate year-round. To make our celebration truly unforgettable, we have chosen Hacienda la Magdalena —a stunning venue that perfectly embodies the rich cultural heritage and modern elegance of Mexico.

Plan Less, Enjoy More: A Mexican Wedding Adventure

We want your trip to be easy and fun, so we’re taking care of most of the details. During wedding week, we’re planning group outings—like exploring the city together or a trip to Tequila, Jalisco (the birthplace of tequila!)—plus a welcome event so guests can get to know each other before the big day. On the big day, get ready for a vibrant celebration filled with music, dancing (maybe even a salsa class, since that’s how we met!), and incredible Mexican cuisine—featuring flavors you might not have tried before. We’ll make sure there are breaks so you can relax and enjoy it all. After the celebrations, we may head to the beach for an all-inclusive retreat where if your budget allow it, you're more than welcome to join us. We’ve planned a variety of activities to ensure your trip is absolutely unforgettable!

October in Mexico Is Pure Magic

We're planning the wedding in October for a few great reasons. We want to give you plenty of time to plan your travels, but we also want to give you multiple reasons to make the trip—one of them being Día de Muertos! October is the perfect time to visit Mexico—the weather is amazing, and most of the country is already decked out with vibrant Día de Muertos decorations. It’s definitely one of the things I’ve missed the most, and whether you explore on your own or join us in one of our outings, you’ll find plenty to see and do!

Fun for Everyone: A Kid-Friendly Celebration

We want every guest to have a fantastic time—especially the little ones. We'll have fun-filled bounce houses and attentive staff keeping an eye on the children, with plenty of engaging activities to keep them entertained. Meanwhile, our guests can relax and enjoy a range of events designed just for them.

Hold on your booking plans!

We're excited for you to start planning your trip to our wedding in October 2026. Since the big day is still a while away, we suggest checking flight options within the next two to three months for a rough cost estimate—airlines tend to offer better fares a few months closer to departure—rather than searching for October flights this year. We'll have a base hotel that has offered us exclusive discounts for you, and we'll provide transportation to and from the wedding venue—though you're welcome to book alternative accommodations if you prefer. If inviting someone—like your parents—would make traveling with your kid easier and more enjoyable, or if you simply would like to invite someone, they're welcome to join! Just let us know in advance so we can accommodate accordingly.

Keep Calm and Hold Your RSVP

We know we're asking a lot—whether it’s a few hours or a whole day of travel—to join us for our wedding, so we’re doing everything we can to make it truly unforgettable. For now, no RSVP is required—unless you'd like to give us an early heads-up. We'll be sending out the official invitation with all the details by the end of this year. We just wanted to share some context about the event and what to expect. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the big day! In the meantime, you can follow us on @thekiwiandthemexican on Instagram.
